 IKAR TIKKUN: TAKE ACTION

IKAR is built on the belief that the Jewish community has a distinct responsibility to participate in social justice and tikkun, healing. We believe that our spiritual development is ultimately not only for our own benefit, but also for the impact that we will in turn have on our city, our country and the entire world.

We are in the process of preparing for a multi-year social justice initiative for ALL members of IKAR. As an initial step in this process, we will be engaging in a series of one-on-one conversations about issues of deep concern to us and the stories that shape our commitment to social justice. We will be engaging in this process along with many other congregations who have joined together to collectively address the social concerns of our shared community. We look forward to the participation of all our members as we engage in a process that will allow us to build meaningful relationships with one another and to identify ways in which IKAR can work toward real, sustainable change in the world.

Based on our collective areas of passion and interest, we will determine actions that will focus on service, education and advocacy. We look forward to engaging in this innovative process, and together becoming agents of change in our city and our world. For those who are interested in getting involved in the coordination of this campaign, please email .

In the meantime, we believe that it is our responsibility to be responsive to and proactive about the serious local and global issues that concern us as Jews and as human beings.
